Meet Ribble Weldtite's newest addition to their roster, Cameron Jeffers. Racer, YouTuber and bike tricks galore. Cameron Jeffers has been racing bikes since he was just 8-years-old and now is joining forces with Ribble Weldtite. It’s exciting to have this new addition to the team so we caught up with the 23-year-old Lancashire lad to talk about this new chapter in his life.

Welcome, Cameron.
Cameron, it’s great to have you as part of the Ribble Weldtite Team, how are you feeling about it?
I’m really excited to be part of the team and looking forward to getting stuck in next year. It’s been a bit of a strange year and of course, racing has been impacted. This is the first year I haven’t raced since being around 8. Before I did road cycling I was a BMX racer so I’ve been on bikes, raced bikes, and had that competitive spirit my whole life. So to have literally nothing this year it’s been so weird and unnatural for me. But it’s great now to have this opportunity with Ribble Weldtite. I just can’t wait to get stuck in next year.

So you grew up in Eccleston, so a pure Lancastrian!
Yeah, and honestly it’s great to be able to do this with such a local brand. We are literally only around 20 minutes from Preston from where I live now, and Ribble is based in Preston. It’s such a great fit. My first ever bike was a blue Ribble alloy with carbon forks. So it’s really nice to come full circle and now be signing with and racing with the Ribble Weldtite team.

Goals.
What are you most looking forward to next season?
I’m really looking forward to getting stuck in with a new team. I think having that extra motivation of new team mates gives you a fresh sense of direction. Finishing second at the Durham tour series was my first big result on a national stage. I want to go one better next year though, and I want to try and win. That’s going to be my biggest goal.

Have you met any of the team yet?
Yeah I've met a few of the guys. Being a northern-based team a few of the guys live around here. Si Wilson is the other side of Preston. So yeah I see the guys out a fair bit and cycling is a small community anyway so everyone kind of knows everyone anyway. I'm pretty friendly with a few of the riders so hopefully, I will fit in quite well.
New motivation.
Racer or YouTuber?
So if people don’t already know, you’re a YouTuber as well as a bike racer. How do you balance that?
It’s a question I get asked quite a lot as to where my focus lies. Do I see myself as a YouTuber or as a racing cyclist? I don’t prefer one to the other, I love what I do as a job and I love racing bikes. So as long as I can do both, and I think I can, that is what I will continue to do.
